Who We Are

Cancer Resource Foundation, Inc. (CRF)

CRF, founded in 2009, is dedicated to the creation and dissemination of educational information and practical resources that help people who have cancer, their loved ones, and their providers. Our goal is to link individuals with valuable, relevant services and to provide a user-friendly, reliable gateway for the use of individually tailored educational materials that can serve as a model for other cancer programs worldwide.

We created The Cancer Resource Foundation to meet the cancer community's unmet needs, many of which were identified through the Breast Cancer Resource Guide of Massachusetts project. The Breast Cancer Resource Guide (BCRG) in print was published in 1998 as a book of information and resources for women in Massachusetts. More than 50,000 books were given to patients, providers, legislators, family members, and libraries.

In 2006, as the BCRG developers realized the need for more up-to-date information and access to more relevant community-based resources, they began adapting information from the print guide to a more comprehensive Web version. The BCRG team developed a sophisticated database architecture that enables an efficient and effective method to maintain and update available information.

Both print and web editions resulted from collaborations among service providers, government agencies, private companies, and patients. Too, each was created in response to needs identified by healthcare providers and patients. The CRF will continue to expand the partnerships and collaborations established by the BCRG founders.
